PROJECTS: Organisational change & people development

We provide project, programme and change managers to leading organisations on an interim and contract basis - and our Associates have successfully completed hundreds of assignments involving organisational change and people development . CLIENT: major high street bank
ASSIGNMENT: leadership development programme - group operations
ASSOCIATE: Specialist Coach/Behavioural Psychologist
DETAILS: group operations provides back-office processing for the bank's customer-facing units; various centres handle high volumes of transactions to support payments, account management, and so on. The client decided to take advantage of organisational changes to motivate back-office teams and meet calls for improved service, but felt a high-profile culture change programme would face cynicism and risk being swamped by other change initiatives. The Associate designed and delivered a customised programme based on 'coaching for excellence' that was low-key, highly effective and far beyond standard packaged approaches; this included a diagnostic phase, group-based classroom sessions, and one-hour one-to-one coaching. All information was treated with complete confidentiality. In a short time the behaviours and attitudes of managers changed dramatically, creating a more positive environment, increasing motivation and improving service levels - coaching 40 managers influenced the behaviours of 2,000 front-line staff. Executives said the programme was among group operations' key achievements for the year, while feedback from participants included: 'This was my most empowering experience in 20 years', 'I can now confront things and accept new ideas' and 'I have a reawakened interest in my job'. read the case study (PDF)
CLIENT: a large London borough
ASSIGNMENT: change management and organisational design
ASSOCIATE: Change Management Expert
DETAILS: the Associate has been helping this London borough progress their eGovernment agenda by providing change management and organisation design expertise to the borough's contact centre project, which is attempting to launch a contact centre within very short timescales. As head of the change management workstream he is responsible for the communication to and engagement of staff at all levels of the organisation, including the council members. In addition to this tactical role, he is helping the borough build their change capability by assisting with the recruitment of a permanent team; devising their change approach; and embedding change management in the borough's project culture.
CLIENT: major bank
ASSIGNMENT: wide-ranging organisational change programme
ASSOCIATE: Change Specialist
DETAILS: this Associate facilitated the design, development and implementation of various enabling activities by supporting and advising the workstream leads responsible for such activities; these included employee development, succession and selection management, performance management, development coaching, organisation review and talent planning, culture development, and change management. This required building strong partnerships and collaboration with key leaders and stakeholders; guiding the creation and implementation of processes to support leadership development; working with the training function to link the design and implementation of employee development programmes with the change programme; helping workstream leaders and project support teams manage stakeholder expectations; supporting the design, implementation and action planning of a culture surveys process for effective measurement and improvement of the workplace; developing and realising value from the performance management system; design, planning and implementing organisational and change management strategies; and coaching sponsors, change agents and targets.
