ASSIGNMENT: To deliver a number of high profile mobile telephony products to extreme deadlines for the company's Wholesale and Retail business
ASSOCIATE PROVIDED: Programme Manager
DETAILS: This Associate was responsible for portfolio planning and management - shaping IT projects from concept into projects propositions in the shape of modifications to the company's Wholesale Billing Systems and to Retail Billing systems located in four subsidiary operations; Stakeholder and Supplier management; Risk, issue and quality management across the programme; Mobilising IT Project Managers and associated multi-skilled teams; Directing Project Managers including one-on-one coaching and advise where required; Managing a £9M IT budget, monitoring to ensure compliance against plans and corrective actions to remedy slippages.

ASSIGNMENT: IT management - integration
ASSOCIATE PROVIDED: Programme Manager
DETAILS: this Associate assumed a ‘troubleshooting’ role to identify and fix key issues relating to 35 projects involving 220 internal staff, external consultants and a spend of over £50m. Activities included: implementing changes in the organisation and structure to ensure a clear focus on delivery; setting up specialist integration teams; and implementing standard practices to tighten controls and management of deliverables, configuration, release, risk and issues. Previously, projects were running two months late and slipping week-on-week; after reorganisation, the required products were successfully integrated, tested, deployed and delivered on time.

DETAILS: this interim manager was engaged as the Head of Content and Media Management project teams to develop and deliver a successful programme of new media products for third generation mobile communications; day-to-day activities included programme planning, establishing best-practice (with supporting and new intranets), and leading the interface between the business and technical communities Ref: 1886
